The countryside in Canada has vast areas where wild animals cohabit with human beings. It is quite common to meet a group of deer or bears on the road.

Early in one evening, my wife [1] that we walk in a park around our village. Pretty soon we located a provincial park and were going to hike there. There was only one path for the walk, [2] 10 kilometers. The first half of the road was surrounded by woods, and the latter half of it was surrounded by valleys.

When I entered the gate, I saw a warning sign of wild bears. The sign said that a couple of days ago some visitors saw a bear face to face. I did not take it seriously and continued to walk my way as usual. For one thing, there were many visitors there; in addition, I had been to this park many times but I never met a bear.
